Rigorous, Achievable, Well-Respected
The Inclusion Quality Mark comprises of ten elements which deal with inclusion in its widest sense and in all aspects of school life. Since it is externally assessed and moderated you can be sure that gaining the mark is a notable achievement that will not become devalued with time.
A notable achievement yes, but far from impossible. The book that accompanies the standard is a road-map for good inclusive practice. It takes you through all the stages, and provides checklists to make sure nothing is left out.
It is because of these things that the IQM is so well-respected. You can see below what ex-HMCI Mike Tomlinson had to say about the standard, but there’s more reaction from clients and figures in the educational world on our Benefits page.
