Site MapEvery Child MattersThe Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) recognises the concept of the government's performance management principles and intends to support schools to success through a model of moderated self review. The Quality Inclusion Mark emphasis that all staff are treating pupils fairly allowing the school to increase in gaining success. The concept of the Inclusion Quality Mark can accompany all aspects of Special Educational Needs (SEN) support and can be adapted using the steps for inclusion into the learning environment enabling the Inclusion Quality Mark to play a key role in overall school effectiveness. Observed by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA) the Inclusion Quality Mark follows the Special Educational Need and Disability Act 2001 which promotes and establishes a child's right to be included into the mainstream and includes inclusion whilst listening and taking into account the wishes of the child and parent. All pupils are to be treated the same regardless of any disability.

Inclusion Quality Mark How to Apply
  1. Order the book
  1. Two weeks later a member of the IQM team will get in touch with an aim to
    1. Set a provisional date for the assessment
    2. Agree the requirements of the portfolio outline
    3. Answer any immediate questions you may have
  1. Whilst you work towards the standard there is ongoing support available to you
    1. By phone and email from the IQM team
    2. From our advisors who can provide consultancy to support the inclusion work in your school – call the IQM team to discuss prices
  1. Six weeks before the provisional date we will call you to confirm the date and make arrangements for assessment. The date can be moved if required at this stage.
  1. The school’s portfolio must be submitted two weeks before the assessment date.
  1. Our assessors visit your school to evaluate the quality and depth of inclusion in your school.
  1. Moderation – your result will be confirmed 3 weeks after the assessment.

  2. Successful schools then receive an invite to the national award ceremony to be presented with the Inclusion Quality Mark plaque.
